February saw the launch of the first ever local bands recognition awards in the form of #TheMonkeys #LiveMusicAwards - Bands from across the region were nominated for various categories along with local venues and individuals who have put a lot into keeping live music alive in the area. 

Over 3000 votes were cast across the categories with an awards ceremony taking place up at The Foresters in Crosland Moor.

On the back of the awards the challenge to find the best act overall was launched with the winner being announced mid-March.
